Nasittuq Corporation is a partnership between ATCO Frontec Ltd. and Pan Arctic Inuit Logistics Corporation (PAIL), and is a majority-owned Inuit company.

PAIL is 100% owned and controlled by the Inuit in the four Inuit land claims settlement regions of Canada, acting through their respective “heritage organizations”. PAIL’s seven shareholders are the Inuvialuit Development Corporation (IDC); Nunasi Corporation; Makivik Corporation; the Nunatsiavut Group of Companies (NGC); Qikiqtaaluk Corporation; Sakku Investments Corporation, and Kitikmeot Corporation.

Effective January 1, 2021, Nunasi Corporation holds 51% voting interests in Nasittuq and PAIL holds 51% equity interest in the company. ATCO Frontec holds 49% voting and equity interests.

A major objective, that continues to be pursued by PAIL in relation to its involvement in the Ellesmere Island Commercial Support (EICS) operations and maintenance activities, is to encourage the employment and training of Inuit in the various jobs that are associated with the work, and in this way contribute to the ability of Inuit to participate more fully in the Northern and Canadian workforce and economy in general. In its EICS activities PAIL also encourages business and economic development that will promote the financial self-sufficiency of Inuit.
